The hunting season that is going on now in Kentucky is deer. Clint and Fred Durham (a family friend) went out Saturday morning. It was too hot and the deer weren't moving. Well then Clint went out yesterday. Apparently when it's raining and cold deer move...who would have thought that?! I was at work and the wind picked up. Deer also don't move when it's windy. I hadn't hear from Clint so I sent him a text. Never heard back from him. I left work at 530, thinking he would be home. I went and picked up Hunter from the babysitters. As I was putting Hunter in the car, my phone rang. It was Clint. I thought he was calling to tell me that he was heading home. I was WRONG!! He was calling to tell me that he had shot "BIG DADDY". He was on his way to find him. I was so excited...he had been waiting all year for the day he could kill BIG DADDY!!
About 6:45 he rolled in with the deer. This deer is a 10 point buck with a bunch of "junk" as Clint called it. He's a nice looking deer. We had several people stop by last night to see the deer. It's now hanging in our garage to drain...I guess that's what you call it. I'm still learning all the hunting terms. There have been many deers hanging in that garage since Clint started hunting with his dad when he was about 8 or 9 years old...maybe younger.
Here are some pictures from last night:
